Disgraced PC Nick Pool, 29, engaged in a web chat with an undercover officer posing as a child.
A court heard Pool took part in ‘highly sexualised’ conversation with an ‘under age girl’. He was sentenced to three and a half years behind bars, and has lost ‘everything’ as a result of his crimes – his job, his marriage, and any contact with his child.
Robert Wyn Jones, prosecuting, said: “The ‘girl’ told him he was speaking with a 12-year-old girl, and he responded by saying he was 28 years old and was asking ‘too old?’.”
Pool continued: “Well a lot of paedos in here so be careful”. He also remarked “If I dated a 12-year-old I would go to jail”, and “if I got caught kissing you I would LOL.”
That offending – committed while he was off duty – prompted an investigation which unearthed further criminal conduct by Pool. Colleagues found him indulging in lewd online “fantasies and role play” with others “purporting to be young girls”.
He told one “I want to get a little girl pregnant”, before asking: “When we have a baby girl, will she have sex with me too?”
